Did you know Grand Rapids has nationally touring comedians? Here is your chance to check out comedians from the 616 area code who you have heard and seen on the likes of Bob & Tom Show, San Francisco Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, Comcast On-Demand, etc.
Artists:
Adam Degi
If there’s one thing Adam Degi does well, it’s turning a negative in to a positive. He’s been taking Ex- Girlfriends, car accidents, and bad life choices and somehow making them funny since he stepped on a stage in 2005. He began performing everywhere he could before he won the Funniest Person in Grand Rapids, MI competition in 2009. He was part of the 4 man Twenty Something Funny Something Tour and has performed at festivals like Laugh Fest. He now travels the country performing at colleges sharing his sarcastic but hilarious Stand Up routine as well as hosting a game show. Somehow he finds time to act in Sketch Comedy films and work the club circuit. He once got a standing ovation from the Harlem Globetrotters after telling a joke about their theme song. One day he would like to be black and entertain the world.
Allen Trieu
Allen Trieu started his comedy career by winning Grand Valley State University’s student stand-up contest “Last Laker Standing.” From there, he has performed in Gilda’s LaughFest each year of the event’s existence, the famed San Francisco Comedy Competition and has appeared on Comcast Television as well as the Big Ten Network. His act has been noted for it’s originality and wide range of relate-able topics.
David Dyer
David Dyer has been doing stand-up at clubs and corporate events for over nineteen years. He’s worked with some of the best performers in the industry including Drew Carey, Lewis Black, and Kathleen Madigan. He’s appeared regularly on the nationally syndicated “Bob and Tom Show” as well as their television show on WGN America. He’s been a contributing writer to NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and in the past, he contributed to “ABC’s Politically Incorrect”. He frequently contributes and guest co-hosts on “The Tony Gates Morning Show” on 97 WLAV FM in Grand Rapids, MI. He’s won The Grand Rapids Magazine Comedy Joke Off; a competition that put him up against the best comedic talent in the State of Michigan. David’s interesting and sometimes twisted take on life will make you say, “Hey, that happened to me, too” even if it didn’t…it’s weird, I know.
Matt Lauria
Some people aspire to do things like climb Mount Everest or raising a family or save lives. Matt Lauria only wants to work for 30-50 minutes a day in front of strangers, under the influence, who laugh at his insecurities. And all it took for him to realize this, were two 20k College loans…
Since Matt began telling jokes for money and drink tickets, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the countries biggest names in; Jon Lovitz, Amy Schumer, Tracy Morgan, D.L. Hugley, etc.
Matt’s act is based in life experience and observational humor. Matt is an idiot.
Stu McCallister
Stu McCallister has been doing comedy long enough. He has worked with college crowds, pastor appreciation crowds (tough room), comedy clubs and bars. He talks mostly about his inadequacies in the dating world, how tough his name was for him as a child, and his physical appearance. A bit off-kilter, a bit weird, but a lot of funny. You will be sure to like him.
