Join Angēla Essick Dykes and Maureen, Certified Laughter Yoga leaders and teachers, for this opportunity to laugh for the health of it! Laughter Yoga is a unique concept based on the principle of “acting happiness” – tell your body what to do and your mind will follow! Through a series of simple exercises and breathing techniques, Laughter Yoga will unlock the door of your heart and soul, releasing your Inner Joy, thus re-acquainting you with the carefree, light-hearted spirit you once were.

Angēla Essick Dykes is a Licensed Professional Counselor who joyfully volunteers leading Laughter Yoga sessions at Gilda’s Club each month. Angēla is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader & Teacher, trained by Dr. Madan Kataria. Maureen

Maureen was first introduced to the joys of Laughter Yoga at Gilda’s LaughFest in 2011. After only one session she was hooked! She had gone into the class feeling low and dragging and left feeling on top of the world! Maureen found she felt happier, lighter, and more energetic. Suddenly the long to-do lists didn’t seem so long. Maureen was so excited about the positive changes Laughter Yoga was having in her life that she decided to get trained as a teacher that June. She has been leading classes ever since.

Now Maureen starts everyday with a few short Laughter Yoga exercises. This practice leaves her feeling more energized, happier, more self-confident, and she is better able to handle the stresses that come her way!

Maureen enjoys sharing her love of Laughter Yoga with groups of all ages and sizes. She has led groups at Gilda’s Club, schools, retirement communities, private residences and private parties, churches, and LaughFest 2011 and 2012. With more than 20 years experience of conducting English as a Second Language classes and seminars at corporate and college level, she is eager to share the language of laughter in these domains as well!
