Want to volunteer for LaughFest?


The following roles are available for individual volunteers during the festival. We’re certain that you’ll find a role that fits you!



Back of House Team: Responsible for all behind-the-scenes work to make events run smoothly at various LaughFest venues. This may include set-up and tear-down of staging, technical support including audio, lighting, staging, etc.

Front of House Team: Responsible for greeting and directing guests at various LaughFest venues and events, including: greeting and directing, coat check, door guard, ushering, and ticket-taking.

Go-Do Team: Stationed at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids and responsible for completing tasks, including: distribution of event materials, merchandise, food, etc.; running errands; and fulfilling last-minute/unexpected needs that arise throughout their shift. Volunteers must use their personal vehicle.

High Five Team: Responsible for selling buttons in support of the High Five Campaign. Team members are expected to sell buttons before and during the Festival.

LaughFest Central Team: Based at LaughFest Central, this team is responsible for assisting patrons, selling merchandise, and issuing Fast Pass tickets.

Office/Clerical Team: Stationed at Gilda’s Club, this team supports the LaughFest staff with various important administrative tasks and projects both prior to and during the festival.

Research Team: This team is responsible for administering the GVSU Research survey at festival events.

Retail Team: Responsible for the promotion and sales of LaughFest merchandise at various venues throughout the festival. Must be 25+ years of age; a background check may be conducted for this position.

Transportation Team: Transport volunteers, staff, and artists to and from various locations during the festival. A background check and interview will be required for this position.
