Gilda’s LaughFest Goes Virtual!

(mostly) Virtual Festival to be held March 11-14, 2021Calder Smile 2011

If there’s ever a time that we need laughter in our lives, it’s now! Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids is committed to delivering Gilda’s LaughFest virtually in 2021, creating unique and exciting programming broadcast directly to West Michigan homes.

While we certainly wish we could be laughing together in person, the virtual festival format not only allows us to stay safe, but also to reach people from all over the country. Gilda’s LaughFest is what our community needs coming out of a darker Michigan winter, more than perhaps ever before. Our goal is to retain the spirit and community impact of the festival, ensuring continued net proceeds for our critical Gilda’s Club program and providing a unique celebration of Gilda’s Clubs 20th year of operations in 2021. This year’s festival will include our Laughter Rx Symposium/conference for healthcare professionals complete with CE opportunities as well as festival favorites such as Kids Joke events, Laughter Yoga, and more.  Our programming will continue to feature locally/regionally produced acts and shows – highlighting West Michigan performing groups, as well as “bringing in” national touring acts – the big names the festival is known to showcase each year.We remain committed to offering something for everyone within the festival, including family friendly programming and clean comedy.

The majority of our programming, as with the traditional festival, will be donation-based, allowing the broader community to participate in our wide range of events without financial barriers. For the ultimate festival fan,  “premium content” will be available as well, with the purchase of a premium festival pass – for the complete festival experience.

The festival will be live-streamed from a state of the art studio in partnership with and generous support from Aria Show Technologies and KBOGroup. With the highest production value possible, he festival will look, feel, and sound like a traditional  event.  Almost like being in a comedy club during the festival!

More information regarding events and shows, Premium Passes, and more, will be available in the coming weeks. It’s been a tough year, yet we remain “in this together” with our members, the broader community, and our sponsor partners and look forward to delivering smiles in a new way to West Michigan and beyond in 2021.
