Last year right as the world was shutting down due to COVID-19, ten West Michigan writers/storytellers/personalities took the stage for a not-to-be-missed original presentation of LaughFest’s (No) Laughing Matter – a Moth-like story hour created and hosted by Teresa Thome of Fubble Entertainment and Tommy Allen, artist/publisher/man about town.
For 2021, we have invited back a few of those voices to share visually original stories that embody the mission of Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids that… even in the worst of times, there’s always something funny!
Heart-wrenching, brutally honest, wickedly funny, touching stories… this event will have it all!
Note: This is a grown-ups only, let’s get real, event and will feature stories by Allen and three other local writers, comedians, artists, storytellers including Roberta King, Darius Colquitt, and Mary Jane Pories. (Thome is directing “Bunny Bunny” for LaughFest 2021 so don’t miss this performance about Gilda Radner.)
The event will be held March 11, 8 p.m. online. Doors open virtually 30 minutes before the show for “table seating” and other shenanigans.
