The Sunday Night Funnies have been a part of LaughFest from the start and have raised over $30\,000 for Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids. Slowly\, she began realizing that cooking was more than just a way to pay for her stirrup pants\, music cassettes and perms. After High School she attended MSU and again found herself working in restaurants near campus. Wanting to live in a big city after graduation\, she moved to San Francisco where she fell in love a handsome Italian who was visiting from Milan. She moved to Italy with him spending 3 years in the kitchen with her new mother-in-law\, her passion for Italian Casalinga cuisine grew stronger. Moving back to the US Jenna realized it was time to take the leap and open Amore Trattoria Italiana . Her personal touch by meeting her guests in the dining room became part of the experience and her connection to the community.   During COVID Jenna started Food Hugs feeding frontline workers during the COVID pandemic.  She continues to learn by hosting culinary trips all over Italy twice a year. If you see a sparkly pink SUV on the streets with a “Food Hug“ license plate\, that’s her.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrian Atkinson\n\n\n\nBrian Atkinson is a comedian who played a serial killer on TV\, while doing voices for PBS Kids. This guy-next-door with a radio voice talks about his career in broadcasting\, voiceover\, and being adopted twice\, with twisted observations of everyday life. Brian is an award-winning comedian: Best of The Bash 2022 and 2023\, World Series of Comedy 2023 and 2025 Wildcard 1st Place Winner and 2023\, 2024\, and 2025 Top 40 Comic. They have had cancer. Some of these comedians are cancer free and some still continue to navigate their cancer journey. These comedians share their stories but with a twist.  \n\n\n\nBrian B.   \n\n\n\nBrian is the creator & MC of the weekly stand-up comedy show The Sunday Night Funnies performing weekly at its new home the Chicago Beef Joint. Now in its seventeenth year\, through the years over 1\,300 different comedians have performed at the Funnies. The Sunday Night Funnies have been a part of LaughFest from the start and have raised over $30\,000 for Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids. At one time Brian had stage four squamous cell carcinoma and has been cancer free since May of 2012. \n\n\n\nBen Bradshaw  \n\n\n\nBen is a young comic who has “shared custody” between the Grand Rapids and Traverse City areas of the Michigan comedy scene. Aside from poking fun at being a valet attendant in his late twenties\, Ben also sheds an original\, funny light on his experience beating Stage 3 Testicular Cancer.  \n\n\n\nTim Finkle  \n\n\n\nTim found his comedic voice after expectedly losing his older brother. Channeling his grief into standup\, he has become a master at shining a light on the dark side of things. A two-time TEDx presenter\, he brings warmth & humor to even the toughest of topics including cancer proving that laughter can be a powerful remedy. Tim is making his first appearance in the LaughFest Cancer Survivor Showcase.    \n\n\n\nRob Bagley   \n\n\n\nRob is a four-time cancer survivor and has been doing comedy for seven years. He has performed all over Michigan and has auditioned for America’s Got Talent. His comedy is clean with a little sarcasm. Rob finds humor in his cancer journey and everyday life. \n\n\n\nKim Cook   \n\n\n\nKim is a sharp-witted Southerner now based in Grand Rapids\, Michigan. She’s a Second City alum and blends storytelling with observational humor\, tackling everything from surviving breast cancer and navigating an international marriage to the quirks of middle age. She moved to Italy with him spending 3 years in the kitchen with her new mother-in-law\, her passion for Italian Casalinga cuisine grew stronger. Moving back to the US Jenna realized it was time to take the leap and open Amore Trattoria Italiana . Her personal touch by meeting her guests in the dining room became part of the experience and her connection to the community.   During COVID Jenna started Food Hugs feeding frontline workers during the COVID pandemic.  She continues to learn by hosting culinary trips all over Italy twice a year. Participants will enjoy Charlie Chaplins’ film The Gold Rush\, accompanied by organist Dave Calendine on the GRPM’s Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ.  \n\n\n\nIn this classic silent comedy\, the Little Tramp (Charles Chaplin) heads north to join in the Klondike gold rush. Trapped in a small cabin by a blizzard\, the Tramp is forced to share close quarters with a successful prospector (Mack Swain) and a fugitive (Tom Murray). Eventually able to leave the cabin\, he falls for a lovely barmaid (Georgia Hale)\, trying valiantly to win her affections. \n\n\n\nAbout Dave Calendine Organist \n\n\n\nDave Calendine\, a Warren\, Ohio\, native\, started his musical career with the player piano at the age of 3. By age 5\, he was playing some of the music without the aid of the player mechanism. By age 7\, he was playing at his church\, where he also started to teach himself the organ at age 15.  \n\n\n\nWhen at age 16\, Dave first heard the magnificent sound of the theatre organ\, he was instantly hooked and determined to play the theatre organ at whatever the cost. His wish came true when\, one night after a movie\, the management of the Akron Civic Theatre let him play. Shortly after that\, he was hired as one of the house organists at the 2\,678-seat movie palace. Theyoungest person to ever hold the position\, he entertained audiences there for over 3 years.  \n\n\n\nAfter leaving the Akron Civic Theatre\, he continued on\, playing at several restaurants featuring theatre pipe organs\, such as the Organ Grinder (Toronto\, Canada)\, and Shady Nook (Cincinnati\, Ohio). Dave has also played several theatre pipe organs throughout the United States and Canada.  \n\n\n\nIn 2000\, he went on his first overseas solo concert tour through Germany and Switzerland\, playing to packed houses.  \n\n\n\nDave currently holds the position of House Organist for Detroit’s fabulous Fox Theatre\, holding that position for 29 years now. He has also played for nine years for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular\, featuring the world-famous Rockettes.  \n\n\n\nDave is the organist for the Detroit Tigers MLB team at Comerica Park. He is also one of two organists for the Detroit Red Wings NHL team at Little Caesars Arena.  \n\n\n\nDave has served on the Board of Directors for the American Theatre Organ Society. He is the past Chairman of the Board and current Treasurer for ATOS. He has also been the Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of the Motor City Theatre Organ Society. He has also been on the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Detroit Theatre Organ Society\, as well as a former President of the Flint Theatre Organ Club\, an auxiliary support group for the Flint Institute of Music.  \n\n\n\nBoard of Trustees of the Musical Box Society\, International (MBSI) and as a member of the Automatic Musical Instrument Collectors’ Association (AMICA) and The Carousel Organ Association of America (COAA). He is the past Chairman of the Mid-America Chapter of MBSI\, and past secretary of the Lake Michigan Chapter of MBSI. His work with mechanical instruments has garnered him awards\, including being honored by the Governor of the State of Montana for his work on the Bovey Collection of Mechanical Instruments. His debut album A Cry for Help went to No. 1 on the iTunes comedy charts. He has performed in the San Francisco Comedy Competition\, has been on the Bob and Tom Show and opened for Maria Bamford\, Hannibal Burress\, and others. By day\, he is a College Football Recruiting Analyst for 247Sports who has appeared on The Big Ten Network\, Fox Sports\, CBS Sports Network and ESPN Radio.
