Join LaughFest sans your Sunday Best for the third annual 5K FUNderwear Run!
Sunday, March 13, 2016
Grand Rapids Community College – Ford Fieldhouse, Grand Rapids, MI
Registration begins at 8:30 AM
Race Starts at 10:00 AM
This unique race invites participants to wear their finest (and funniest!) underwear over their running clothes in support of Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids! So forget black tie, there is a NEW dress code in town for fundraising events-underwear! Help us bring laughter and awareness of emotional health to the streets of Grand Rapids. Hey, when else can you run (or walk!) around in your underwear and NOT have it end with a ride in the back seat of a fancy car with flashing lights?
Registration Prior to February 19: $30 (Includes official race t-shirt and finisher medal from Terryberry)
Late Registration on or after February 19: $35 (Includes official race t-shirt and finisher medal – shirt size is not guaranteed)
Online Registration has now closed. You can still register prior to the race on Sunday, March 13th at 8:30 am at Ford Fieldhouse. Hope to see you there!
PACKET PICK UP
Pick up your race packet on Saturday, March 12th from 4pm-7pm at Gazelle Sports (3930 28th St SE) or before the race on Sunday, March 13th starting at 8:30am at GRCC Ford Fieldhouse.
We take our underwear seriously around here, and this year is no exception! Be sure to don your flashiest, most creative attire and you just may be picked as one of this year’s big winners! Prizes will be awarded for best underwear, best couple, best dog, and more!
Participants of the FUNderwear Run are also encouraged to do some additional fundraising for Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids at www.active.com/donate/funderwear2016. Just click “Become a Fundraiser” at the top of the page.
From there, runners can send their unique website link to their friends and family who can support their drafty 3.1 mile trek through the city.
These additional fundraising efforts through active.com will support Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, a free emotional health support community where children, adults, families, and friends find their smile and laughter even in the midst of a cancer or grief journey.
HEY DOGS! Make sure your owners reads this note if they plan on dressing you up in underwear and bringing you to the run!
Owners: Only bring dogs (one dog per owner) that are well-behaved around other dogs and people; must be kept on a leash at all times on leashes no longer than 6 feet (no retractable leashes) and please keep it short at the start to avoid entanglement. We reserve the right to ask the owner and dog to leave if we feel that they are an endangerment to the other participants.
After the race, you both can head over to the People and Pets event at GRCC Ford Fieldhouse! This fun event celebrates the entertainment and funny moments pets bring to our lives. There will be giveaways, contests, a photo booth, and more!
