How to St. Patty’s Day:
St. Patty’s Day falls on Friday, March 17th this year. However, the festivities don’t end that day – they continue all weekend long! There are events scattered across West Michigan, but most importantly it’s the final weekend of LaughFest!! So, if you are looking to have a seriously fun time, here is a quick guide of how to spend your St. Patty’s Day weekend: LaughFest style!
First, you should make sure to have the right attire. Don’t worry, we have you covered! Head in to LaughFest Central to get your St. Patty’s Day t-shirt and shamrock beads.
As you can see on our festive volunteer, this outfit is a must have for the weekend!
THURSDAY March 16th
Kick off the weekend on Thursday night with The Irish Comedy Tour at 20 Monroe Live! This show will be packed with all the Irish you could want AND in Grand Rapids’ newest venue! The Irish Comedy Tour takes the party atmosphere of a Dublin pub and combines it with a boisterous, belly-laugh band of hooligans. If your Friday and Saturday are going to be full of Irish festivities, then check out Samuel Comroe on Thursday at 7pm which is also at The BOB. He’s hilarious, LaughFest is excited to have him this year and we know you’ll love him too. See for yourself!
Friday, March 17th
You might be in for a long weekend. So why not start it with some healthy, feel-good exercise? Our Laughter Yoga class at 10am is sure to stretch your laugh muscles in preparation for a weekend full of all things funny and Irish. You can meet some new friends and if you haven’t already, you’ll be able to see what Gilda’s Clubhouse is all about!
At 6pm head over to The BOB for dinner and a show with the National Stand-Up Showcase! These comedians are some of the most up-and-coming and talented in the country. You’ll want to catch them now, because who knows how big they’ll be next year!
End your night with some serious laughing at The Pyramid Scheme with Rory Scovel at 9:30pm followed by the 5th Annual Dirty Show at 11:59pm.
Saturday, March 18th
Do you have little leprechauns running around your house? Bring them to Baby Loves Disco and have them dance off some energy in the cutest way possible! This dance party will take place at 11am and again at 2pm.
Pete Holmes is back again this year at Fountain Street Church! His new series, Crashing, recently began airing on HBO so this is a PERFECT time to see him! NEW THIS YEAR we will be having the Fountain Street Beverage Garden before the show. So, give an Irish toast to one of your favorite comedians!
